Welcome to Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association’s website!

Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association (BIAA) provides Bainbridge Island’s 23,000 residents with a Basic Life Support ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. BIAA is staffed by two office staff and 35 dedicated responding employees, 28 of whom are state certified Emergency Medical Technicians and 7 first responders/drivers. All seek to provide high quality care for all of our patients. An average of over 1100 transports a year are done, many of them for Bainbridge Island Fire Department, the local clinics and skilled nursing facilities. BIAA also provides transports home from the hospitals when requested.

BIAA is independent of Bainbridge Island Fire Department. While it works closely with the fire department it functions as a completely separate entity. BIAA EMTs and First Responders perform their medical training with BIFD and receive the same high quality training.

BIAA is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization, that is not taxpayer funded. The goal is to provide excellent care in transport and to keep costs as reasonably priced as possible. BIAA participates in the One Call for All program on the Island and the generous donations received contribute to buying supplies and to the reduced fee applications received from island residents throughout the year.
